Replacing AC to DC adapters

I had trouble finding these guidelines, so here they are:
(this is plagerized from montek.com)

There are four things you need to know to replace your AC Adapter:

1) Output Voltage and milli-Amps
* Choose a voltage equal or lower than required
* Choose milliAmps equal or higher than required
2) Output Polarity (here’s an example)
polarity diagram
3) Regulated (Switching) or Un-Regulate (non-switching) Output

A regulated adapter can be used in placed of an un-regulated adapter. However NEVER replace a regulated adapter with an un-regulated adapter as this may damage the equipment.

4) Output plug size
Simply, that the connector needs to fit the device

I ended up buying from parts express which is quickly becoming one of my favorite audio parts/network parts/general electronics sources. There’s also a paper catalog and it’s on this page.
