Removing crapware Firefox extensions

It really peeves me when software installs crapware that I don’t want. This time it happened to me with the free AVG antivirus. Version 8 is the first time I’ve seen Grisoft pull this…but maybe it’s always been there and I’ve just always unclicked that “feature”.

To remove the AVG firefox tool bar (completely, so it doesn’t come up every time you create a new profile) you’ll need to remove a key from the registry. (That’s pretty foul on AVG’s part I think.)
On WinXP I found the registry key in here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Mozilla\Firefox\Extensions

If you have other difficult-to-remove extensions, consult the official mozilla resource.
